The POC Octal X MIPS MTB helmet is based on the Octal road helmet model, but added robustness for XC needs. The expanded polycarbonate shell in combination with a light EPS insert reinforced with Aramid, ensures better strength properties and distribution of impact energy, with very little increase in weight. It is also equipped with a new patented system to protect the brain against rotational forces arising from a fall called MIPS Evolve and a RECCO reflector, which makes it easier to find the helmet and its wearer in unclear terrain. Greater comfort is provided by holes for storing glasses and the possibility of fine-tuning the fit of the helmet with a wheel.
