Camber

In Czech, camber is called komora. When we put classic skis together, they will touch at the tip and heel somewhere at their widest points. On the contrary, the slides will be the furthest apart in the middle. Thanks to this chamber, a better pressure on the edges of the skis is achieved. When compressed, the skis are stretched in the toe and heel area and hold better against the snow. Manufacturers sometimes indicate the camber height, i.e. the distance from the slide toward the ground in the center of the ski.
