ZLÍN, KAROLINKA – On Saturday, January 20, 2024, the Karolinka Ski Area will welcome not only skiers, as is customary, but also the AVEX SKI ski team. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. it will be available to skiers, cross-country skiers, snowboarders and fans of alpine skiing.

"We want to teach interested parties how to properly wax their skis directly at the slopes. We know from practice that even good skiers can have a problem with proper waxing. In this way, we will show them everything clearly, and then they will be able to compare directly on the slopes how much influence the correct waxing has on the ride," said Robert Šperka for AVEX SKI.
As part of the workshop, experts will demonstrate a variety of tools that will make ski care easier. Whether it is sharpeners and files for the edges of skis, various types of waxes, brushes and scrapers for slides, wax removers or service tables and more.

However, experts from AVEX SKI will offer much more in Karolinka. In recent years, Czechs have discovered the magic of alpine skiing, which has many forms. It is a sports discipline on the border between cross-country skiing and downhill skiing. Someone is a fan of freeriding, another sticks to the beaten track near the slopes, and still another loves ski touring, i.e. a kind of tourism on skis. The advantage is that, unlike cross-country skiing, you are not dependent on the trail. And the good news is that ski mountaineering can be enjoyed by the whole family, including children. It is only necessary to adjust the difficulty of the terrain to the age of the offspring.
